It’s no secret that Crimson Desert sports a massive map with unprecedented levels of interactivity, and just when you think you’ve reached the confines of the map, it opens up even further. As it turns out, if you just keep pushing up, you’ll eventually reach outer space and be able to look down at Crimson Desert’s fantasy planet from an interstellar perspective.
As spotted by PC Gamer, the intrepid explorers at ItemRelocationClub recently demonstrated their history-making trip outside of the upper atmosphere of the game and into the blackness of space. To their and everyone else’s surprise, there’s actually stuff up there. Like, stuff you’d find in space, like stars, a clearly defined Milky Way, and a the curvature of a nearby planet. Check it out:

If you’re interested in doing this yourself, I would suggest just watching the above video again, as it sounds like quite the hassle. First, you need to install an infinite stamina mod, and then you have to perform about 10,000 aerial attacks in quick succession, which took ItemRelocationClub about three hours to do. The views are spectacular once you get up there, but let’s be real, all the fun stuff is happening at ground level.

What’s interesting is that Pearl Abyss bothered to build these visual elements of space at all, especially considering the only way to see any of it is by using mods and exploits. NikTek, another content creator who managed to aerial attacked all the way up to space, theorized that Pearl Abyss could be working on space-themed DLC or a “future game” involving space, but I’m more inclined to say this just demonstrates Pearl Abyss’s commitment to making Crimson Desert feel as real, alive, and seamless as possible.
