Mark Hamill has shared his thoughts on Dave Filoni taking over as co-head of Lucasfilm, and it sounds like he couldn’t be happier.
Filoni and Lynwen Brennan officially became co-presidents earlier this year, replacing Kathleen Kennedy.
In a recent interview, Hamill told USA Today that he “can’t think of better hands” than Filoni, who understands Star Wars “so well.”

“George was a mentor to Dave, so he knows George’s sensibility,” he added, praising the “great stuff” Filoni has worked on, like The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.
Hamill, of course, played Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars trilogy and the sequel trilogy, and he returned to reprise his role in both The Mandalorian season 2 and The Book of Boba Fett.
“The reason I did Mandalorian was that Luke had a beginning and an end. There was no middle… You never got to see Luke as a Master Jedi at the peak of his powers,” Hamill explained of his decision to return.
He added: “He was the most idealistic character in that series. He was someone who would take adversity and double down and come back and counter his setbacks. We didn’t see any of that. So when I got the chance, I thought, ‘Geez, this is wonderful.'”
