This list of the three best new to Netflix shows to watch this weekend will keep you thrilled and entertained over the next few days. The streamer is always adding new shows to its catalog and many of them are just the right length for a good old binge if you’re hanging out at home this weekend.
This time is undoubtedly dominated by the return of one of Netflix’s biggest shows: One Piece! The second season is bigger and better than the first as the Straw Hats enter the perilous Grand Line. But if that’s not for you, we’ve also pulled out a great documentary series and a terrific new thriller.

One Piece: Into the Grand Line
Watch On
Available: US/UK
Netflix’s hit adaptation of the manga and anime success story continues with a bold second season. The Straw Hats, led by Luffy (Iñaki Godoy), set sail for the legendary Grand Line, a perilous stretch of the ocean filled with opportunities for new adventures. The eight episodes of the second season (all streaming now) also see the introduction of some fan favorite characters, including the Tony Tony Chopper – a half-human/half-reindeer played by Mikaela Hoover.
The fan and critical response to One Piece season 2 has already been very strong – and no wonder. This is an improvement on what was an already good show in almost every way. This weekend is your perfect opportunity to re-join the Straw Hats on the high seas for an epic adventure.

That Night
Watch On
Available: US/UK
How far would you go to protect your sister? That’s the troubling question asked by this provocative and tense new thriller. Elena (Clara Galle) is a single mom who is enjoying a holiday with her sisters Paula (Claudia Salas) and Cris (Paula Usero) in the Dominican Republic. When Elena accidentally hits and kills a man with her car she calls on her siblings for help. They scramble to try and come up with a plan that will keep Elena out of jail – but that means breaking the law and their actions will have far-reaching consequences.
This gripping thriller is inspired by Gillian McAllister’s bestselling novel and makes for compelling, if dark, viewing. All six episodes of That Night are streaming from Friday, making this an easy weekend watch.

The Dinosaurs
Watch On
Available: US/UK
This glossy docu-series has been a big hit for Netflix since it launched earlier this month. The Dinosaurs transports us back in time by some 66 million years, telling the rise and fall of the many species that inhabited the Earth before us, with the help of some glossy effects work. Perhaps that shouldn’t come as a surprise, given that the show includes Jurassic Park director Stephen Spielberg amongst its executive producers.
With an awed voiceover from Morgan Freeman, The Dinosaurs is a fascinating documentary that’s suitable for all ages. Stream all four episodes for an exciting and fact-packed weekend binge.
